Well,
almost the English Version
FauxFantastics
FauxFantastics
is the trademark used by Gary Walker, Decorative Painter and
Teacher.
This Website is a effort to put Mr. Walker's work online for reference
purposes. Those interested in knowing more about Faux Painting
techniques
can surf through the "paintings" and "textures"
to get an idea about what each technique looks like. Those wishing
to study some of these techniques will find close-up photographs
on the "workshops" pages.Presently,
in the section about walls on this Website, there is information
about schmooshing with a roller and plastic bags, roller washing
with glazes, imitating bread crust with acryllic emulsion paste
and quartz sand, imitating rose-colored calcario rock and lessons
on how to use two acryillic wall coverings which come ready-made
on the market.
In
the section on furniture and other decorative elements, there is
information about how to paint on new wood to create effects which
look old and weathered or others which look new and run a gamut
of colors which could work perfectly in your home. There are also
techniques which imitate iron rusting in the backyard, marble and
lace curtains.
We
hope to create a dynamic Website where Mr. Walker and other artists
will eventually offer tips and techniques on a regular basis. We
have already started a "links" page and hope this grows
into a useful tool for people interested in this area of painting
or who need Faux Painting services in their communities.
We
encourage your participation. Send us your ideas. Send us a painting
lesson with pictures and permission for us to publish. Let us know
about your work and/or your own Website that you might like to link
to us. We will carefully review all information you send to us and
try to include it on this Website. (Giving credit where credit is
due, of course!)
